Our fire starting tools utilize a proprietary alloy of rare earth metals called ferrocerium. Some of these metals include Iron, Cerium and Magnesium. When a ferrocerium rod is rapidly scraped, the friction created ignites the shavings producing molten globulars of burning metal.
